Recently, Ezy Vehicle Rentals had the privilege of supporting Moranbah State High School’s Dragline Racing team as they travelled to Sarina for their first H2GP race against other schools. It was the first step in their exciting H2GP journey, and what a way to begin.
Before the sun had even come up, the Dragline Racing team was on the road, ready to put months of learning, preparation, race car setup, and strategy into action. With nerves, excitement, and plenty of determination, the students arrived ready to compete and represent their school with pride.
Once at the event, the team got straight to work setting up their car, making final adjustments, and preparing for the race ahead. When the lights went out, every student had an important role to play. Drivers, pit crew, data analysts, race strategists, and team managers all worked together to keep the car running strongly throughout the race.
After two hours of racing, teamwork, strategy, and focus, Dragline Racing completed more than 330 laps and crossed the finish line 17 laps ahead of the competition, taking out an incredible win.
This achievement is a fantastic reflection of the dedication, commitment, and teamwork shown by every student involved in the program. It is also a powerful example of how school-based STEM, engineering, and motorsport programs can help students develop practical skills in problem-solving, leadership, communication, data analysis, and technical thinking.
The team’s next challenge will take them to Townsville in July, where they will race for the opportunity to qualify for the World Finals in Switzerland.
Ezy Group is honoured to have played a small part in helping the team get to and from the event safely. Supporting local students and schools across Moranbah, Mackay, the Isaac region, and surrounding communities is something we are proud to do.
